The fabled fountain of youth? Could be closer than you think.
Dilva Henry here with the story:
Dilva
Henry:
That’s right, it’s really popular now, a lot of people trying
this, seeing how it works, anti-aging hormone therapy is in fact
all the rage these days. And it’s not just for seniors, far from
it in fact. That’s because a lack of certain hormones or
minerals can make the difference between being full of energy
and feeling like pulling the covers over your head.
Diane H. has something she hasn't had in a long time, lots
of energy:
Diane:
I Feel phenomenal, my energy level is amazing, and I
sleep at night, a full eight hours.
Dilva
Henry:
A year ago the opposite, no energy, not enough sleep and...
Diane:
Aches and pains. I had a very dependable body and it was just
falling apart.
Dilva
Henry:
So she turned to a doctor who specializes in anti-aging
remedies, Dr. Marc Darrow.
Dr.
Darrow:
We have a very complete program that checks people from every
chemical possibility that has to do with aging and youth.
Dilva
Henry:
First Dr. Darrow checks exactly what is going on in your body
Dr.
Darrow:
We start out with the bone densitometry, called a dexa scan and
from that we are able to tell if someone's hormones are starting
to diminish in their body. The hormones that we look at are the
entire cascade, we think of hormones in the body as an
orchestra. In other words if one of the players in the orchestra
is off, the whole band or the whole orchestra sounds terrible.
Dilva
Henry:
And he says that shouldn't wait until you are officially a
baby-boomer or until your energy plummets to consider anti-aging
treatments.
Dr. Darrow:
Aging to me means when someone is in their late 30’s, because
the hormones at that point are starting to diminish, what
happens is a person just starts feeling lousy.
Dilva Henry:
Before getting tested and possibly treated, make sure you are in
good hands.
Dr. Darrow:
The most import thing is to always check with a medical doctor
who is trained in age management, sometimes called “anti-aging”
to find out what is appropriate for their particular body
chemistry.
Diane:
I started taking estriadol, and testosterone, and progesterone,
it is amazing what balancing out your hormones will do.
Dilva Henry:
Besides improving energy, some patients say that they lose extra
fat and their memory improves as well.
